Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve got questions about the service we offer, here are some answers.

  • Therapy involves a mental health practitioner, such as a mental health social worker, counsellor, or therapist, who works with individuals, couples, families, or groups to address and overcome the challenges and distress they are facing in life. The goal of therapy is to help people develop coping skills, improve their emotional well-being, and explore their problems to develop better self-conscious.

The therapist aims to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, and make their desire changes in life.

  • Whether you're ready to start your healing journey or simply curious about therapy, The Embrace Project provides a free 15-minute Zoom or phone consultation.

This consultation allows you to discuss your reasons for seeking counseling, get to know Mayna, and ask any questions you have. If you'd like to book your first counseling session right away, you can do so, and the 15-minute consultation will be included in your first session at no extra cost.

  • As a therapist, I often have clients who come to their sessions with a sense of urgency, hoping to resolve their issues as quickly as possible. However, it's important to note that therapy is a process, and the outcome can vary from person to person. Some clients may notice an instant improvement in their mood after just a few sessions, while for others, the process may take years.

It's crucial to allow yourself to trust the process and be open to whatever it may unfold for you.

  • Yes, I do offer therapy in other languages. I am also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, and I am happy to provide counselling sessions in your preferred language if it would make you more comfortable and better able to express yourself.
